A Hold that runs without us

A Hold is a puzzle trail on your town’s own streets. Families walk to each stop, their phone opens the puzzle, and they solve it on the cipher wheel. Nobody from us needs to be there, and nobody from you either. Think of the downtown scavenger hunt your chamber runs once a year, except it runs every day, needs no volunteers, and sends players to your shops.

A town licence

Your town’s own puzzle trail on its own streets: 9 to 12 stops, a new story each season, placed and run by us. Visitors walk it with their phones, so there’s no staff to hire and no booth to man.

  • Puzzles made for your streets, never copied from another town
  • A new story each season
  • No staff on the street

A merchant kit

A toy, game or book shop starts a Hold with a kit in a box. Your shop is the trail’s treasure chest: players finish at your counter.

  • Cipher wheels to sell at your counter
  • Players finish the trail at your door

The faires. Since 2023 we’ve run puzzle quests inside Renaissance faires; in 2026 at 3: Robin Hood's Medieval Faire, Maine Renaissance Faire, Connecticut Renaissance Faire. The booth, the map, the cipher wheel and the chest are the lab every Hold is built from.

Salem, Massachusetts. The first Hold, a 6-stop, 2 km flat loop through 1800s maritime Salem, opening soon. Every stop is on a public sidewalk or in a park, and the route was planned to avoid memorials and burial grounds.
